[ Suddenly her voice is much colder. ]

He will be, but whoever did this to him won't. Did they tell you anything about who might have hurt him?

Nothing. They wouldn't answer anything and just walked away. I didn't stop them because Francis will need me and I wasn't doing that to him.

[ He's quiet a moment, tense and hurting and trying to hold himself together. ]

Then what happens to him while you're in jail? That would break his heart, Margo.

He means the world to me, Caleb, and I don't like it when random assholes hurt the people I love.

[ She pauses and sniffles a little. ]

He'd understand.

I know. I saw so much of his life and his feelings and I get it, Margo. I just ... I want to worry about his people while he's gone.

So I'm going to worry about you ending up in jail. For his sake.

[Not that Caleb isn't already seeing plans forming to find out who did it, trust in the coven to help. ]

[ She rolls her eyes. Not fine. She isn't going to give in that easily, Caleb. Margo has been pissed off at the world as it is and now someone dares to take her platonic soulmate away from her? That calls for violence of the roughest kind. She wants blood. ]

[ He says her name softly, closing his eyes and just trying to hold himself together. ]
